Synopsis: The Festival is financially supported by Penrith Town Council and Penrith BID. The aim is to showcase local talent and build a festival where artists meet in Penrith and share, knowledge. This will create a great event for locals and tourist alike whilst at the same time creating a festival owned by the local artistic community.

  • 29th – 7.30 Ian McMIllan + Luke Carver Goss – Between you and Me – Penrith Playhouse

    • Workshop with Ian Beesley and local Dementia Group

    • Heather’s Hat Trail – look out for hat images around the town
    • Dementia Awareness banners, throughout the town, follow the trail map to collect postcards at each venue.
    • Upfront Puppet Theatre come to Town
    • Buskers on street  in the town throughout the day
    • Penrith Cinema – In the Loop local Films on the big screen
    • Blue Jam and UCC Street Band and Gamelean playing
    • Womens Jazz weekend – Blue Jam
    • 10.00 – Family Hatter workshop
    • 1.00 – Top Hatter Gathering in the centre of Town for a communal photograph and judging of the Top Hatter of Old Penrith Town
    • 5-7pm – Artists in Penrith Exhibition and judging at the EVAN Gallery
    • 7.30pm – Penrith Players – Fringe Performance
    • 8pm – Live Music – Foundry 34 – General Wolfe

September

Picturing Penrith

Artists arrive in Penirth and have from 8am until 4pm to create a work of art depicting Penrith, now in its 3rd year. Prizes and exhibition at the EVAN Gallery

The Magic of Penrith

  • Entries open – Closing date Aug 31st
  • Photographers are invited to submit entries for ‘The Magic of Penrith
  • Can you find the magic in Penrith?’ Unusual angles on familiar places, quirky shots, hidden gems, characters, arty ideas, you decide at least one image from each participating photographer will be included in the show. The exhibition will be displayed in Penrith until Sunday 1st September.
  • Entries can be made on the day. – £3 Entry fee
