As live theatre performances continue to be impossible for theatre groups many are considering online presentations or audio shows. This workshop is a creative tonic in these distanced days and serves as a useful introduction to the essential skills needed for successful audio performances.
This is a practical introduction to how radio drama is made with plenty of chances to have a go and practice the techniques used in the production of professional radio drama. The workshop introduces you to the weird and wonderful world of radio – featuring playful exercises to include all participants.
Stefan Escreet is a freelance radio producer and director having been a BBC Radio Drama Producer in Manchester working on programmes across the Radio 4 schedule. He is a visiting tutor in Radio Acting for Manchester Metropolitan University School of Theatre. Stefan was Associate Director at Theatre by the Lake for many years and is now Artistic Director of Ragged Edge Productions which has toured nationally with the award winning The Chef Show.
Stefan has delivered Radio Acting workshops to groups in a wide range of places including The Witham in Barnard Castle, The Edge in Manchester, Shropshire Drama Company and in Cairo for the Cairo Radio Drama Festival.
