As love will be in the air around Valentine’s Day, February’s social play reading evening will be Derek Benfield’s seductive comedy, “A Toe in the Water”.
Mr Potter’s health farm is the absolute picture of morality and high behavioural standards. Much to Mr Potter’s horror, it becomes the perfect setting for a riotous time with middle-class snob Gerald who just wants a week of peace and tranquility, his saucy secretary (who doesn’t!), his daughter and her window-cleaner boyfriend whose naughty weekend seems doomed by the unexpected presence of her disapproving father, and his distrusting wife with an equally wandering eye! Hilarity ensues in this wild romp – think Fawlty Towers with kale and beetroot smoothies!
As usual, the bar will be open (don’t tell Mr Potter!) and everyone is welcome to come and drink, chat, read or listen as we bring this raucous script to life!
