Dec 8th & 11th

The writer Hannah Sowerby grew up attending Penrith Juniors and then graduated into the adult section before moving away to study Drama and Script writing.  This will be the first showing in Penrith of her “10 Things…” – the comedic coming-of-age tale of Jodie, a young Penrithian searching for her place in the world.

When first performed by Hannah herself, the Guardian reviewed this piece as “delightfully deadpan…. Likeable and funny”.  You can read the full review here:

Originally conceived and performed as a one-woman show, this production is reconfigured as a three-parter, with two additional actors portraying a range of characters encountered by Jodie in the course of the play.  There is lots of opportunity for physical as well as verbal comedy and the directors (Fiona Johnson and Jocelyn Pye) anticipate a lot of fun and creativity in the development of the play.
