Ever fancied playing a real-life person? Now’s your chance!
Handbagged relives the ups and downs of the 1980’s through the eyes of two Maggie Thatchers (one in her 50’s, the other a bit older) and two Queen Elizabeths (one in her 50’s, the other a bit older), with guest appearances from the Reagans, Denis Thatcher, Arthur Scargill, Gerry Adams, Geoffrey Howe, Lord Carrington, and many more. The two most powerful women in Britain at the time were almost exact contemporaries. Here is the story of what might have been said in those private weekly meetings between them, told with humour, wit and irreverence.
So, ladies, how about following in the footsteps of Olivia Colman, Claire Foy and Imelda Staunton, to play Her Maj? Or maybe you’d like to emulate Meryl Streep and Gillian Anderson as the Iron Lady? And, gentlemen, you get a chance to play a medley of political big-hitters of the period, with accents from Belfast to California and from Eton to Barnsley! What’s not to like?
